Leicester Trip - October 22nd

Had an early train to catch to leicester to get a decent days training in, so woke up and got my ass to the trainstation to meet ryan at 7:30. We then waited for Stu Pembrey, and headed off for a hot chocolate as it was a freezing cold morning. We headed back to the train station to meet jack at 8:15 and boarded our train at 8:34.

After a funny but long train ride we arrived in leicester at just gone 10:30 and were met by Callum, who i had previously met, but the others hadnt, so after a quick introduction, Callum took us to the first spot to get warmed up - The Park. We did a quick warm up and then did a bit of movement training. This was all just preparation to get going to the real spots that leicester had to offer.

We then moved on to the H bar that appears in Blane's Power is nothing without control video. I managed a very sketchy double armed muscle up on it, which was quite an achievement as the bar is quite thick. Something to work to for next time though, getting it better :) After training around the surrounding spots, which can be seen in the video, we decided we were all hungry so headed to subway, which was extremely nice :)

After this we headed to a spot called the slates. There was an arm jump there that, on my last trip to leicester, i had not been confident enough to go for, but i had promised myself i would do it this time around. And i did. A nice accomplishment for me. There was also another arm jump that Stu Pembrey achieved which i couldn't quite put full power into because of fear. Something for next time ;)

The next spot, which we called the yellow walls, at the uni, was in my eyes the best spot. I could have trained there for a day at least, so many possibilities, not enough time. Whilst here i accomplished a pretty nice wall run, and a small-ish one that i did pretty well (can be seen on the video) and also tried my hand at a little bit of break dancing :P After a few laughs at my feeble attempts at Breaking, and a bit more training, we left, completing about 0.000001 percent of the possibilities at this amazing spot.

We then carried on heading round the Uni, as that is where most of the spots are, training and having a laugh with Callum, who wasnt training much due to fatigue. Ryan then experiences a nasty bail on a Cat pass precision that can also be seen in blanes PINWC vid, clipping his knees and landing on his face on the steps. This left him completely unable to train, and so after about 15 minutes more looking around we decided to head home early.

Was a great day, cheers to Ryan, Stu and Jack for making it a fun days training, and to our host Callum for showing us round the spots and providing us with a lot of laughs throughout the day (y)

1st October 2007 - Training

Well i havent updated this in a longgg time and i should have done as it is very important! So here goes, over the past few months i feel my progression has been extremely good, i have gained a fair bit of strength, power and control and feel that i am starting to feel the importance of hard work at conditioning, as one of my main goals at the moment is to improve my climb-ups ten fold. I feel this is coming along pretty well, but for the next few weeks i am going to be focusing a lot on upper body work to get them up to a standard i feel happy with. HARD WEEKS OF UPPER BODY CONDITIONING FTW :D

Anyway, here's a training video i made today, nothing special, i am very limited where i live and so these are just a few bits i have found :)

Thats all for now, shall try and update as regularly as possible :D
