Cat pass precision - Notts

Nottingham Trip - October 26th

So, our second trip of the week saw Me, Jack, Ryan, Liam, Stu Palmer, Tumo, Neil, Kristian and Jammie on the train to nottingham at 9:30am. Once at the train station for about 10:40 (train was gheyly late) we made our way up to the concert hall, stopping at UN on the way for some people to do a ncie arm jump or two, where we were to meet the nottingham people's. We trained there for about 30 minutes, some people getting a nice cat pass arm jump which can be seen in the video and Kristian doing an extremely good cat to cat off a lamp post to the concert hall wall. Then along came Will. He took us to the first spot of the trip; Bilbie Walk.

Being one of the smaller spots in nottingham, there was not much to do here but sit and watch (or in my case film) some crazy-ass-cool tricks from Neil. We waited here for about 10 minutes until Zade and Adam turned up. We then headed off to the flats area, where i accomplished a few things i had been looking at. I made the first level of a cat precision, and didnt quite get the second level. I was easily getting the distance and height but just kept dropping one of my feet at the last second. Also whilst here i did a cat pass to arm jump that we were all trying, it took me about 3 or 4 attempts but then i landed it and with a pretty nice climb up as well. We trained here for over an hour before moving onto the next spot; The student shop. Here we just mainly all used the muscle up bar, taking it in turns. I did a couple of nice single armed muscle ups and was very very close to the double arms, which incidently i now have (most of the time). We then moved up to the orange walls where we just sat and ate our lunch until we got kicked by some security guards.

We then moved onto High Pavements, where there was an arm jump i had been wanting to do for a while. After quite a long time of careful deliberation i decided that this was one to be left for next time. Whilst here we got a few nice things on camera; Jack and Jammie doing the arm jump, Stu and Neil's synchronised fronts and Jonny YEAH also learnt to Gainer onto the stones (which are really landing friendly). We got kicked after only about 20 minutes of being there, so moved on up to the Houses.

At the houses, there was an arm jump and a precision that i had wanted to do when we came to notts, but to my dismay, scaffolding had been erected directly in the middle :( Two things for next time though ! The scaffolding that was here was pretty damn cool though so after training on it for about 15 minutes we moved to the opposite side of the houses. This was most probably the most productive part of the day. With loadsss of people getting the pretty big tic tac to arm jump. And Kristian making this sort of I'm-spiderman-so-im-going-to stick-to-the-wall to arm jump movement, which Stuart and Neil also tried but couldnt quite do. Here i worked on my climb ups for about 15 minutes straight, and, with a little help from Stuart, they improved ten fold in that short period of time. I had gone from pretty appaling climb ups, to pretty damn good ones (Although still not good enough) where i was landing nearly straight on top of the wall. I also learnt to flick up through the middle of my legs, which was such a simple thing, but had been evading me for months, so i was pretty pleased with my achievements here.

We then moved onto IBM, which i had been to on a previous nottingham trip and liked a lot. Here I managed the biggest Level Cat Pass precision between two walls over bark, and also a nice diving cat pass. Stuart managed to diving cat the largest bit that i cat precisioned, but thats just Stuart, he's too good! We found a pair of abandoned high heels here as well, which we challenged Neil to wear and do a cat pass precision. He delightfully accepted and completed the challenge! Funny times.

The last place we headed to was Audo. I wish we had gone here earlier in the day as it was definetly my favourite spot in nottingham. We didnt do much whilst here although i did a pretty cool arm jump, not very big, but quite nice grip and everything, which felt good. As i say, not much trainingz happened here, just a few Jam Photo's to finish the day off, before us Lincoln/Cleethorpes lot headed to the station for our journey back home.

Great days training, few things on my list for next time i come, which hopefully will be pretty soon!

Leicester Trip - October 22nd

Had an early train to catch to leicester to get a decent days training in, so woke up and got my ass to the trainstation to meet ryan at 7:30. We then waited for Stu Pembrey, and headed off for a hot chocolate as it was a freezing cold morning. We headed back to the train station to meet jack at 8:15 and boarded our train at 8:34.

After a funny but long train ride we arrived in leicester at just gone 10:30 and were met by Callum, who i had previously met, but the others hadnt, so after a quick introduction, Callum took us to the first spot to get warmed up - The Park. We did a quick warm up and then did a bit of movement training. This was all just preparation to get going to the real spots that leicester had to offer.

We then moved on to the H bar that appears in Blane's Power is nothing without control video. I managed a very sketchy double armed muscle up on it, which was quite an achievement as the bar is quite thick. Something to work to for next time though, getting it better :) After training around the surrounding spots, which can be seen in the video, we decided we were all hungry so headed to subway, which was extremely nice :)

After this we headed to a spot called the slates. There was an arm jump there that, on my last trip to leicester, i had not been confident enough to go for, but i had promised myself i would do it this time around. And i did. A nice accomplishment for me. There was also another arm jump that Stu Pembrey achieved which i couldn't quite put full power into because of fear. Something for next time ;)

The next spot, which we called the yellow walls, at the uni, was in my eyes the best spot. I could have trained there for a day at least, so many possibilities, not enough time. Whilst here i accomplished a pretty nice wall run, and a small-ish one that i did pretty well (can be seen on the video) and also tried my hand at a little bit of break dancing :P After a few laughs at my feeble attempts at Breaking, and a bit more training, we left, completing about 0.000001 percent of the possibilities at this amazing spot.

We then carried on heading round the Uni, as that is where most of the spots are, training and having a laugh with Callum, who wasnt training much due to fatigue. Ryan then experiences a nasty bail on a Cat pass precision that can also be seen in blanes PINWC vid, clipping his knees and landing on his face on the steps. This left him completely unable to train, and so after about 15 minutes more looking around we decided to head home early.

Was a great day, cheers to Ryan, Stu and Jack for making it a fun days training, and to our host Callum for showing us round the spots and providing us with a lot of laughs throughout the day (y)

1st October 2007 - Training

Well i havent updated this in a longgg time and i should have done as it is very important! So here goes, over the past few months i feel my progression has been extremely good, i have gained a fair bit of strength, power and control and feel that i am starting to feel the importance of hard work at conditioning, as one of my main goals at the moment is to improve my climb-ups ten fold. I feel this is coming along pretty well, but for the next few weeks i am going to be focusing a lot on upper body work to get them up to a standard i feel happy with. HARD WEEKS OF UPPER BODY CONDITIONING FTW :D

Anyway, here's a training video i made today, nothing special, i am very limited where i live and so these are just a few bits i have found :)

Thats all for now, shall try and update as regularly as possible :D

Lincoln Jam 10.03.2007

I havent posted on here for a while as ive been quite busy.
got up at about 9;15 and my mum dropped me at the train station where i met; Browney, Jak, Jonny, Jamie, Tumo, Ryan, Wizey, Dom, Mike and mikes friend. We first went to City Hall to train for a bit and we met Jim and then Jammie came there at about 12. Jim took us through a rigorous warm-up then Me, Jak, Jim, Ryan, Wizey and Browney went to the garages. Me and wizey had promised that we would do the 1st garages arm jump, and, after a while, we did it. Browney did it, then wizey did it, and that gave me the confidence to go for it. I landed really well and my climb-up was good. we then moved on to the biggest arm jump, which i couldnt work up the confidence to go for, but Jak, Wizey and Browney did it :) Unfortunately we went back to get my arm jump on camera but the ones we did get on camera werent as good as the first one i did, but i was happy anyway as i had completed my goal for the day :D We went to HMV and 5 people managed to do the arm jump! Jak, Jim, Ryan, Jonny and Jamie! A big thumbs up to you guys :)
Unfortunately i injured my hands and for the rest of the day i could not put much more weight on them. So i just did some light training, working on basic vaults and working on movement.

Achievements;
- The 1st garages arm jump
- started to notice an improvement in my general movement and fluidity.

Things to do or improve;
- 2nd garages arm jump !

Lincoln Training 27/01/07

Well we met up at the train station at 10 and there was me, jak, stu, browney, jonny, jamie, wizey, luke, stu pembrey, joey and ryan. We went straight to the scaffolding near the train station and trained for a bit, stu was doing his awesome muscle up things amd stu pembrey managed them, browney got a whole in his leg so he went home. Then we moved on to a stairway near the echo where we did a good warm up, which stu made up. then we moved on down to the spar and we got some breakfast/lunch. We then went off to City Hall and i did a quite big (for me) arm jump which i was reli happy with. Then we played pk tag for a bit, but while everyone else carried on playing that i stopped and jim taught me to cat pass!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so pleased i finally learnt, after all the times ive tried and failed i finally did it, and i was really proud of it. thanks jim! we then moved on to the green rails but didnt train there, so we went behind the odeon, and i managed to pop over the wall, which i couldnt do 3 weeks ago when i first tried to! After that we went over to marks and spencers where jim helped me try and quicken my climb ups. I got them a little quicker but not much, so thats something i need to work on. We then moved off to the college where we trained for a bit and i managed to monkey onto a bin. i was trying to kong it but couldnt quite so i just kept trying to monkey, jak helped me then i managed it :D Jak then tried teaching me rolls, which i think i got pretty good, but then we got kicked by a security guard. Magistrates court was the next place we went to. I made a precision i wanted to do after a few attempts and then i could stick it every time, which i was pleased with. On a lighter note, we got joey into a cash machine hole, and then jamie pretended to rape him which we caught on camera and was extremely funny :P then we moved back down to the scaffolding and i kept trying to do the 180 to muscle up, i managed the 180 but not the muscle up :P Then wizey, stu pembrey, jonny and jamie left, but me, stu, jak, jim, adam and luke went off to marks and spencer again and trained there for a bit. finally we went off to city hall and me, stu, adam and luke had a laugh listening to jim and jak have their debate about religion. we didnt really train much but we sat and had a nice chat. then we all went to primark and bought some new trousers and i went to get some tea from subway. me an jak then caught the bus home and there was this stupid twat on the bus who was like one of the chavs in town. god he annoyed me.
Overall an awesome training session today guys!

Achievements for the day;
- Learnt to cat pass properly!!
- Got a pretty good arm jump at city hall.
- Learnt to roll pretty well.
- Stuck precision at magistrates court every time after struggling with it.

A very productive day!

Sleaford Training 20/01/07

Well today we jammed in sleaford cus jammie couldn.t get to lincoln. me and jak got on the train from lincoln and then tumo, stu pembrey, wizey and luke joined us. when we got to sleaford we met jammie, ric and alex. we trained at the walls outside the station for a bit, then we went to train at aldi for a short time. We went to the skate park and trained for quite a while, and this was where i accomplished my first ever cat pass. It was only over a very small bin but it was still a great achievement for me. We then moved on and went over to the spar and had some lunch. From there we went to call for jack, and while we waited we went on the trampoline. In fact let me rephrase that. Jammie and Stu went on the trampoline while we stood hoping to go on :P After that we moved on to this place where jack and wizey did this cat to precision whilst me, jammie, stu, tumo and some others went to the shop, where we witnessed the bail of the day, by tumo on a rail precision. When we went back to meet jack and wizey i completed a precision from a wall to the second step, which was one i had been struggling with so i was pleased with that. Then we moved on to some council estate and i did my first arm jump. it was only small but when i worked up to it i did it and everyone said it was pretty good :D Then we got kicked off because someone called the police, so we went to a place near a bridge :P we trained for a bit, then we shot our interview. To finish we had a game of pk tag and then did a stealth thing.
Then me, jak, wizey, stu, tumo and luke had to go to get our train home. Overall a very productive day for me.

Achievements for the day;
-First Cat Pass
-First Arm Jump
-Completed a precision i was struggling with

Training 06/01/2007

  • Got up today at about 9:00 and then went to the train station, at about 9:50, where i met; Jack, Luke, Jamie, Jonny, Wizey and Tumo. We then went across to a place near the echo, where we trained for a bit. We then went up to the spar where we got some food and along that road we met up with jim, then we headed off to the magistrates court. I was trying to do a rather large (for me) precision from a rail to a wall. After trying a few times i couldnt manage to get it even though i knew i could, i kept putting my second leg down. Then Jim saw me trying and he came to help me, he told me i wasn't jumping up enough and that i shouldn't pull away my leg, because i was going to get it if i just left my leg to land. So i tried it again and i made it!I was very happy with myself and then i did a pretty easy underbar, but it felt nice to be able to do it so i repeated it a few times. Then some people went off to the church, but me and Jack took wizey and tumo to this bin in town to try a cat over it and land over a purple line, which jack had achieved on thursday. We then met back up with the people at the church where we didn't really train at all apart from jonny doing a massive precision! After that we went to city hall and trained for a bit, but then it started raining, so we went under. We played Pk tag for a bit, then some bikers came so we went off to get some drinks. When we came back we did a silent landing competition )the first one was a cat pass one which i sat out and watched. Wizey won that one. Then we did a switch hands one which i did do, i think Jack or Jonny won it i can't remember.
    Afterwards, jonny and jamie left and Tumo ran to get his train whilst, Me, Jack, Jim, Wizey and Luke went to subway.
    Then I got picked up :P

    Achievements for the day;
  • I got a precision that I was struggling with, after Jim's help.
  • I think I improved on landing my switch hands a bit more silently.
